Medicom is bringing Nobilin Cholestofit to the German market for anyone whose cholesterol level is slightly elevated or who wants to control their cholesterol level as a preventative measure. The sterols contained in Nobilin Cholestofit are plant sterols. Plant sterols (phytosterols) have a structure similar to cholesterol and therefore also fat-like. The free plant sterols combine with cholesterol in the intestine to form insoluble compounds, which are then excreted.
Plant sterols for cholesterol
During the digestion of fat, so-called micelles (clumps) form in the intestines, in which all fats and fat-like substances are bound so that they can be absorbed into the intestinal wall and into our organism. The free plant sterols remove the cholesterol's binding sites in these micelles, so that the cholesterol cannot be absorbed through the intestinal wall; it remains in the intestinal pulp and is excreted.
A sufficient intake of plant sterols - at least 800 mg - lowers total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels and does not affect HDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood. Don't take any risks: lower high cholesterol levels in good time. High cholesterol levels are a widespread health risk among the German population: almost 70 percent of adults in Germany have slightly to significantly high cholesterol levels. Long-term high cholesterol levels can have long-term health consequences. These include arteriosclerosis or, in the worst case, cardiovascular disease.
